infectedxcargo-archive asked: "Fallon, will you be my baeritto?"

“Y'know I feel as though these get worse the more you say them,”

“Nuh uh! I wasn’t done bugging you yet telling jokes!”

"Hmph, I don’t like your jokes, I don’t get ‘em,”

infectedxcargo-archive asked: "Gimme my pun book back! I wasn't done with it yet!" [I imagined younger!Ellie saying this]

“You’re done now,”

infectedxcargo-archive asked: "Do my dark undereye circles and unwashed hair turn you on?" ((I have no control of her anymore))

“Yes. Yes they do,”

“A hot dog costume?” She snorted with laughter. “Of course not. Because you actually eat. But you still look prettier than them.” Her comment came from when Joel told her about them one time.

image

“Excuse you, I’m not prettier than anyone. I don’t wanna even talk about the last time I bathed,” she smirked, “We should probably go do that soon,”

infectedxcargo-archive asked: "Do my dark undereye circles and unwashed hair turn you on?" ((I have no control of her anymore))

“Yes. Yes they do,”

“…Wait. I didn’t think that stuff was supposed to be…attractive.”

“You’d be attractive to me even if you were wearing a hot dog costume. Besides, it’s not like I’m over here looking like a supermodel,”

Seeing Fallon’s expression caused her heart to swell, feeling like she hit the jackpot of the day. The embrace was a comforting surprise, a chuckle escaping the younger when her neck was kissed. “Sure, let’s go with that.” She shook her head, the grin still on her face. Perfect? She was the furthest thing from it; catching the alcohol and meat was just a lucky break—that was all.

“Well we’re going to celebrate as best we can, okay? No frowns tonight, that’s a promise from me and a statement to you,” she gave Ellie’s cheek a quick, playful pinch before jokingly stroking the bottle of alcohol, “I don’t care if this thing doesn’t make it over time, I want to feel that kind of terrible the way only alcohol can make you feel,”

Seeing her struggle talking made Ellie worried. Resting a hand on the older woman’s back, she moved her hand in small circles in an attempt to help her calm down.

If everyone else hated you guys, why didn’t you just leave? Well, that was a two-edged blade. Deal with the stupid effects that humanity had beyond survival and suddenly people seem to be ripping at your throats. Ellie found it like that all the time. One person actually holding dear to the existence of another person besides their own was few and far between. On the other hand, you were safe…for the most part. Safe from the Infected and harshness of the world, so long as everyone worked together to keep food in stock.

“So even if you told everyone to fuck and just leave you guys alone, they still shot daggers into your back.” Ellie was thinking miles ahead, attempting to think of what could have happened to drive Fallon away from her ‘little slice of heaven’ with Ezra. If he was Mr. Perfect, wouldn’t he have gone wherever she did? Maybe someone stopped that from happening…

Fallon exchanged a small, almost nervous smile with Ellie as the other woman’s hand drew circles on her back. The other’s touch did it’s best to relax Fallon, despite how on edge she was feeling. These were old memories that she’d done her best to put behind her, and with their reanimation came the feelings that were paired with that night.

“Well… yes. They would. But it was always me telling people to fuck off and him picking up the pieces… He was a fixer… I don’t know, I’m not good at describing people, but if I had to describe him in one word, that’s what he was. Good with his hands, good with his words. A lot of the time I was kind of… Well I was kind of the subject of his apologies,” Fallon laughed nervously, “I’m a handful, but… You know I’m less of that with you,” she paused to catch the other woman’s eye.  She wasn’t sure how Ellie was feeling, but if she had to take a stab in the dark, this probably wasn’t the other’s favorite topic of conversation.

xoubliette asked: Hey Ellie, I got something to ask you...

“Sure, Fal. What’s up?”

“Terrible is definitely the last word that comes to mind.” Upon contact, Ellie’s hand immediately intertwined with Fallon’s, and leaned against her with a contented sigh. “I don’t know what I’d do without you…” She breathed, a smile still dancing on her lips. It seemed that the longer she was with her, the more she smiled. Hell, even Fallon just talking made Ellie happier than she had been in years.

image

"Me neither, honestly I think I’d shrivel up in a corner and die or something,” she ran her other hand through her hair as she gave Ellie a short, concise squeeze. She leaned across to the other girl and planted a kiss softly on Ellie’s smiling lips, before meeting the tip of her nose to the other’s and grinning. “It’s stupid, and cliche and all that crap but you mean everything to me,”

“You weren’t infected, and you liked each other. You were both human beings. Granted you messed around a little…but that didn’t mean-” She paused. “What was Ezra like? Why did he hang around you?” Even though it was completely obvious to Ellie why someone would hang around Fallon, she asked nonetheless.

image

“Yeah…” Fallon murmured, feeling a little tense as Ellie spoke, despite her thoughts reminding her she was being foolish. She trusted Ellie, she trusted her with every part of her being, and trust meant revealing things about oneself that maybe you were scared of admitting to yourself. Ellie had told Fallon of her own past, it was time for Fallon to do the same.

“He was fun. Laid back, down to earth… A rare person, y'know, in a world like this. He made me laugh, as ludicrous as it sounds,” she paused to swallow, her throat dry, “God knows, honestly. Everyone assumed he’d pair off with the leader of the camp, given he was second in command and they spent a lot of time together, but he spoke of her more like a sister than anything. She held a grudge against me for it, blamed me for forcing a wedge between them because I guess it was easy that way,”
